Patrick B Clark Profile Picture

Patrick B Clark

Individual Investor

Patrick is a career Air Force Noncommissioned Officer stationed overseas for the past 18 years. He believes that currency risk (inflation) is high.

Investment style

Patrick purchases long stock positions in companies with solid balance sheets and good cash flow. He opens short stock positions in companies burdened by long term debt and weak cash flow. Portfolio is rarely market neutral, but is never 100% long or 100% short. Long/short exposure is systematically and continuously optimized via trading rules which are based on market forces rather than a subjective market outlook. Each stock position is limited to 4% of the overall portfolio and manager normally holds at least 40 positions to maintain portfolio diversity.

How I got started

As an individual investor, Patrick could not find a professional asset manager whose approach matched his priorities. He began managing his own account by necessity about 15 years ago and has protected his personal account against many of the risks which were generally overlooked or ignored by professional asset managers.
