Nasdaq 100 Long-Short Quant

The model trades the Nasdaq 100 ETF (QQQQ) long or short, utilizing an active management risk reduction strategy. The signal generated by the model is based on a combination of price and volume of the Nasdaq100 index (NDX) and short-term proprietary technical indicators against those trends. It is entirely mechanical and based on publicly available market data. While long-term market trends are taken into account as part of the model, they are only used as a basis of comparison to the short-term movements of the NDX.

Trades last approximately two to four days from initiation to closure. The model incorporates the day’s action and generates a daily signal that is traded (if necessary) either near the close or near the open (the Covestor replication process does not guarantee trades will happen prior to end of day. If a trade is not replicated prior to end of day, it will be completed at market open the following day).
The model targets absolute returns regardless of market environment and a reduced level of risk than is normally experienced in equity market participation. The model is based on an entirely mechanical, proprietary system.
The model is continually tested by the manager. Data is all taken from publicly available sources.
The model trades the Nasdaq 100 ETF (QQQQ) long or short, and may hold a cash position. Position size, position direction, entry and exit points are all dictated by the proprietary system that drives the model.
