Swan Asset Management takes its name from the acronym for “sleep well at night.” The idea is to manage investment strategies that give investors some peace of mind during uncertain times. Swan offers several models, all of which use a hedged equity approach to give investors steady progress in good markets with limited downside in bad markets.
Swan looks at equity investments from a fundamental perspective and tries to buy great companies at great values. While generally following a bottom-up process, top-down considerations also enter into play when stock selections are made. Larger companies are the primary focus, but mid-cap names may occasionally be included as well.
Swan Asset Management was formed in 2000 to provide investment advisory services for separate accounts and investment partnerships. One year later, it was merged into Philadelphia Investment Management Group while maintaining its unique investment strategies and independent management of all Swan portfolios. Swan addresses the specific needs and preferences of institutional and individual investors through hedged equity, traditional equity, balanced and fixed income account management.
