MCD - Time to cash in...a little February 14, 2008
MCD is showing signs that it will begin a retraction from its current high. Volume has been decreasing over the last few days, and with a Dow up 170 day like yesterday, MCD should have been spiking more. It is almost as if investors have started loosing interest in the stock. I suspect that this will allow the stock to pullback a little.
I sold half my position yesterday ahead of this potential drop. The position was up %11 in 3 weeks, so not a bad short term trade. I will let the rest......

MCD - Same Store Sales February 08, 2008
Same store sales for MCD look impressive. International growth is screaming, and US is also suprisingly good. Stock should peform nicely today, as long as the rest of the market does not drag it down.

RL - Off to the races! February 06, 2008
Entry price $60.90
RL came in with much better than expected earnings for the third quarter with a increase in revenue for wholesale and retail divisions. They also guided the full year expectations higher. The street loved this news and the stock gapped up at the open. Finished the day just shy of 10% higher and blew through the 50 day MA with insane volume (nearly 10 mil traded with a 2.1 mil average)
Obviously in this market, any company that can beat estimates and guide higher is Wall......

I have been an avid watcher of the RL stock for a long time. The company is one of the best high end apparel makers in the world, and has very high brand loyalty. People have always associated RL with quality and style.
The stock has been hyped lately by several market commentators, as a way to play the fed's rate cutting party. Retail will definitely benefit as a result of the lower rates in which to refinance debt and boost inventory for the spring......
