Still nervous May 26, 2009
After all the posts in '08 of thinking I was buying at a low, I finally backed out of the prediction business. However talk is cheaper than action. I have been steadily buying since Dec '08. Performance seems to be better than the market. Should I not be high-fiving?
This is what makes me nervous:
- Up too fast, too soon.
- People are still out of jobs and consumer confidence is up??
- We have not even begun to deal with the credit card market.
Anyhow, I have put in trailing stop losses (approx 10%)......

Energy May 19, 2008
As I posted in March, I would buy Financials - I did. XLF, SLM. FMD was my most speculative one.
Now on to Energy. I am now looking to Coal. I will buy KOL - Coal ETF and some MEE. At these prices for Oil and the foreseeable future Coal is not a bad case of "alternative energy". Yeah I know it is not clean but certainly smooths out and hedges against MIddle East issues.

I have about 25% of my assets in MINDX - Indian equities
Theoretically
- Approx 33% of Indian economy is totally based on Indian economy only.- Dabur - top holding in MINDX caters primarily to local taste.
YET
- I cannot get over how amazingly well correlated my portfolio is to the S&P500. The effect of globalization seems to be far more pervasive than I had imagined. At least through this one data point of MINDX.
Hmmm. will have to rethink this strategy completely.
