Smart Money

“Follow the Big Money.” There are always a handful of leadership stocks propelled by big money market makers. These are typically companies with hot products and a proven record of high accelerated growth. Also relies on technical analysis, based on over 100 years of stock chart research to maximize gains while minimizing risk.
“Follow the Smart Money.” There are always a handful of stocks with accelerating fundamentals that are must buys for institutional money managers.  Technical analysis and chart patterns, based on over 100 years of research, are also used to maximize gains and reduce losses. Focus approach targeting companies with:
  • Accelerated growth- high profits (EPS) and sales
  • A good story - such as a unique product or service
  • Part of a leading sector or industry
  • Strong institutional sponsorship—growing rate mutual fund ownership, particularly smart mutual fund managers are buying, and
  • Exhibition of real strength in their charts- such as record price increases on record volume that is sustained over time and develops certain patterns.  When price goes up, people get greedy. When price goes down, people get fearful. If price really goes down, people get hopeful that it will go back up.
Conducts fundamental research to find companies with these characteristics, and then uses over 300 additional trading tools in order to determine when to buy and sell. Research sources are: Investor’s Business Daily, gilmorereport.com, Investor’s Edge radio show hosted by Gary Kautbaum, and stratinv.com.
Allocates based on technical indicators and additional signals from proprietary rules.
Uses stop loss orders as a tool to limit losses.
May infrequently improve programmed trading rules to better follow the core methodology.

2. Performance of the model manager's account is calculated by Covestor on a daily time-weighted basis, including cash, dividends and earnings distributions, and broker commissions. Manager returns include trades that fail Covestor's trading rules, do not reflect any Covestor suitability or risk score restrictions and are exclusive of Covestor fees. More

3. Average subscription returns ("Avg Sub" or "Avg Client") are calculated by Covestor and are composed of the average, daily, time weighted returns of all active subscriptions to the underlying model. These daily average returns are then linked together for the timeframe requested. In addition, these returns include cash, dividends and earnings distributions, brokerage commissions, Covestor advisory fees, and reflect individual client suitability and risk score restrictions. More

4. All graph data is as of the end of day for the referenced period, unless otherwise specified. The subscription minimum is the minimum subscription required to follow a particular model. The minimum amount is determined by Covestor, based on the characteristics of the underlying model. It should not be considered as specific investment advice for your investment situation.

5. Benchmark returns have been calculated by Covestor using a time-weighted calculation of daily index valuations and do not include cash, dividends and earnings distributions, or transaction costs. More

6. Leverage indicates the level of margin utilized and is calculated by dividing gross exposure by portfolio net liquidation value.
