FTO Trade - August 7, 2008 August 07, 2008
Back from my trip overseas and back in the market.
Making a tactical bet on oil refiners for the medium-term (next 3-6 months most likely). Refiners are somewhat independent from other energy stocks / price of oil and have taken a beating over the past year. FTO beat earnings today but dropped over 8% on fears future results will be further negatively impacted by the weakening U.S. economy and the effect of record high crude.
The drop today helps the positive features of this stock (1. fantastic......

July 1, 2008 Update (watchlist ideas) July 01, 2008
Added an Interactive Broker's account so I can take a roundtrip trade on just about any share allotment I typically use for $2.00. I think execution is faster on IB than Scottrade as well, so if you're hesitant about holding long positions in the current market it might be worth putting some cash into a short-term trading account over there.
Also using ThinkorSwim which is a bit more expensive but still nominal trading costs and a much better platform than IB or ST.

I'll be switching from Scotrade to Interactive Brokers over the next few days. During this time I cannot trade, so I've cashed out my positions.
