Michael exploits market inefficiencies using a momentum-based trading strategy. He has a strong engineering background and currently lives in Germany.
Rigorous top-down investment process, starting with analysis of expected market direction, investment themes and market sentiment for the coming weeks. Second step is identification of asset classes, sectors, and stocks to benefit from identified themes. Finally, Michael is deploying technical analysis for timing of entries and exits. Positions will be closed if momentum fades or predefined stop-loss is broken.
As Michael does not consider fundamental financial value, he does not trade a stock within its period of earnings results as he is at a relative disadvantage to those with deep individual understanding of the company.
Michael has been an active investor since the mid nineties. Initially, he developed mechanical trading systems, which worked quite well in that period. In 2005, Michael started to develop his current approach. Lessons learned during the internet bubble helped to shape his strategy and drive investment decisions during the recent US Housing Crisis.
