  • New short on FAZ & FAS June 09, 2010

    With renewed market volatility, one of the moves that appears to be a winner is in shorting pairs of levered ETF's. As the rebalancing process erodes their assets, and the amount of trading within them to accomodate the rebalacning moves, both FAZ and FAS have turned in remarkably weak results since their inception. It's startling that anyone actually buys them, I think.

  • Shorting my first Penny Stock May 21, 2010

    I'm not Tim Sykes, but I'm getting a bit sick of watching penny stock scams unfold. Thanks to discussions at Zecco.com, I've now ventured into Penny land and shorted BGBR at 45 cents/share.

    The facts as I see them are as follows:

    * Per their most recent 10-Q (filed yesterday), the company has assets of $251,000 in cash. That's all. No other assets listed to speak of, against a market cap of $65 million dollars.

    * They cancelled almost half their shares on April 27 and received nothing in return. So......
