High Dividend Low Volatility

The LakeView High Dividend Low Volatility Portfolio seeks stocks and exchange traded funds that produce above-market average dividends while exhibiting below-market average volatility.
Investments are determined utilizing a multi-tiered selection and screening process. We evaluate stocks based upon their ability to consistently generate above-market average dividend payouts while maintaining below-market levels of volatility. We perform further fundamental analysis prior to final stock selection.
LakeView Asset Management, LLC employs a traditional bottoms-up fundamental approach to investment research. This approach includes but is not limited to: analysis of financial reports, records and data; participation in or observation of earnings conference calls; site visits; economic and commodity research; statistical analysis; and consumer behavior.
A total of 20 to 30 positions are typically held in the portfolio. No individual stock holding may exceed 10% of the portfolio. When a stock exceeds that weighting, the position is reduced. We may hold cash until a new opportunity presents itself.
Stock will be sold under several scenarios: when the dividend yield falls below the market average yield; when the volatility of the stock exceeds the market average volatility for a given period of time; when we desire to raise cash for new opportunities; or when the fundamental metrics of the company change and our investment thesis is no longer valid. We use mental soft stops rather than hard stop levels to avoid fast markets or excessive intraday volatility.
At times, exchange traded funds of the S&P 500 or other broad based indexes may be held to maintain exposure to the market.
