  • Who wants to pitch in for a gift for the PPT? September 12, 2008

I don’t know if they meant to do it or it is just a lucky side effect, but the PPT has basically started a new economic stimulus package, and I for one would like to thank them. Not only have they started giving away money again, they have decided to give money directly to us, traders.

Monday morning, after the official Fannie/Freddie news, the stock futures were going parabolic and I was making my little list of long positions I wanted to unload and short positions I wanted to initiate and I......

  • Short TM/long GM August 19, 2008

My short TM position is part of a long GM/short TM pairs trade. I realize the dollar strength helps Toyota and the better product mix as well as a reputation for a more reliable product, but I can not overlook one glaring anomaly in the two companies; market capitalization. This trade is a dollar for dollar (for every dollar long GM one dollar short TM) pairs trade betting on the market caps of the two......

This trade is a dollar for dollar (for every dollar long GM one dollar short TM) pairs trade betting on the market caps of the two company converging. (I do have a......

  • short Mosaic August 19, 2008

This Mosaic short is a classic favorite trade of mine. Most recently I used this setup on FXI short for real nice profits. I watch big long running momentum stocks and basically wait until they breakdown technically then I short them, it's that easy. I have been short MOS twice before now and have made nice profits both times. Although I feel a little uncomfortable about how crowded this trade has become. But on the bright side there have been some talking heads on TV telling people to go long......
