  • covestor sucks and i'm lazy February 20, 2010

i just haven't gotten around to posting more analyses, partly because i'm busy, partly because i've kinda been changing the way i think about things.

but come on covestor, why do you not include dividends??  One of my positions (MGIC) declared a 25% dividend and another a 50% dividend (EDCI.)  So it looks like I'm down 50% on EDCI.  Come on, really?  And now I have a bunch of shorts on, so who knows how it will treat that.

i'm a value investor and i have 2 brokerage accounts, this is my smaller mess-around account.  most of the holdings in it are an automated system i wrote (i'm originally a programmer) that basically buys cheap stocks.  in a lot of ways i'm more comfortable with buying baskets of stocks with certain characteristics because i really don't think i know more than the......
