I’m Not Trying to Call a Market Bottom, Honestly… October 03, 2008
There are two types of investors in this world - the ones who are smart enough to know they don't know which direction the market is going in the short term, and those who are stupid enough to think they do. I'm trying really hard to be the former, but I'm a contrarian by nature, and after receiving panicked calls this week from virtually every one of my friends and family who are invested in the stock market, I have to admit that I was tempted to try to call a market bottom.

Portfolio Overview August 29, 2008
I'm traditionally a "buy and hold" investor, especially since I tend to buy out-of-favor companies that take time to turn around. However, 2008 is not a year that lends itself well to such a strategy.
