No Bailout Plan - No Fat Lady September 29, 2008
I've been silent recently, but maybe for the wrong reasons. As a new member, I am still trying to understand how all this works. I have been shocked that my return is -70%+, but now that I see that the service doesn't track the return on idle cash and only the positions I put on and sell, things are making a bit more sense. I have no money in the market now, and that's completely intentional for obvious reasons. I dipped my toe a couple of times last week with less than 10% of the portfolio,......

Closed QID Position Completely September 10, 2008
See my posting yesterday on selling 50% of my position for more information on rationale. My account was up 6%+ yesterday alone! On days like that, you just have to look for something to sell. QID was the biggest gainer in my portfolio by far, with a 19%+ gain in less than 10 trading days. It was the shining candidate for the profits I just had to take on such a great day.

Selling BZP Short September 10, 2008
Yesterday, BZP Resources, Inc. cleared support first touched the 2nd week of February and then retested 3 times thereafter. I love 3 support or resistance that's touched 3 or more times on a weekly chart. I go completely ga-ga if I can find it on a monthly chart. Volume was significantly higher than the historical average during the penetration of support as well. Slow stochastics were in significantly oversold territory (<20), but the RSI was just over 30 (20 is oversold in a bear market, 30......

Sold 50% of Position QID September 09, 2008
I can play moving averages all I want, but I could hear myself squealing and had to take some off the table. The RSI was in overbought territory (above 70), even though we're in a bear market, so true oversold is between 75-80 on shorts. The slow stochastics were above 80 (also overbought), and the %D line was starting to decline with increases in price (the same holds true today), incidentally. So I took about a 15% gain in a couple of weeks on half my position. Sounds great to me.
