  • Trade Log For October 28th 2009 October 29, 2009

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (Public, NYSE:GT) was the only company I played today, but I played a lot with it! I shorted it, bought it, scalped it and even made a fat finger mistake while trading this stock.

I am still holding a position of 3000 shares bought at an average price of $13.63 (yes, too high .. I know)

It was a volatile day for this ticker and also for the market in general. Hopefully tomorrow we'll see more of the same.

Sold short 1000 shares of Valero Energy Corporation (Public, NYSE:VLO) @ $19.30 and another 1000 shares @ $19.51. There was news of losses reported by the company so I was expecting the price to drop even more. I covered all 2000 shares @ $19.3698 for a small profit.

Sold short 2000 shares of Rodman & Renshaw Capital Group Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:RODM) @ $5.16 following a TimAlert, and then another 1000 shares @ $5.1301 a few minutes later. I was glad to see the stock price descending as the subs followed the alert but it didn't break through $5.00 in a convincing way so I took profit and covered my short @$5.01

I learned later that Timothy had to cover his short for a loss @ $5.30 in after hours due to some P.R. released by RODM that caused the price to go up again; so I pad myself on the shoulder for following my thoughts and not hold overnight. Many subs will claim a loss tomorrow on this trade.

  • Trade Log For October 21st 2009 October 21, 2009

U.S. Energy Corp. (Public, NASDAQ:USEG) after being running up for the last 3-4 days announced their decision to dilute their stock by selling shares for $100 Millions. Immediately after the news hit the wire the price went into a free fall so I sold short 1000 shares @ $6.15 and another 1000 shares @ $6.19, covered these 2000 shares @ $6.12.

A few minutes after I covered the previous short, I received an alert from Timothy Sykes: he also shorted this company @ $6.09 so I followed him and......
