    I got a bit carried away the past few days and made some really poor choices. I got impatient when I wasn't seeing any stocks worth jumping on. Instead, I saw stocks that actually seemed to be near their peaks and I assumed they would continue upward. I ended up being wrong, twice. I'll take a few days off so I can collect some thoughts and avoid trading on emotion (which is precisely what I did after the first bad trade).   • My least favorite holding... May 16, 2009

    I actually purchased this quite a while ago after reading something on a blog (Motley Fool, perhaps). I regret not doing more research on it before buying. It's not that I think it's a bad company... in fact, I think it's probably a pretty good buy. I bought in at a pretty terrible time though, right around its peak. I've definitely learned from the mistake and am glad it happened early on in my investing career. I'd actually recommend buying it now for someone who isn't already holding.

  • Not a gamble May 16, 2009

    Here's another one that's just everywhere... P&G has its hand in so much and in so many countries. Currently selling at a discount, in my opinion. I don't think it'll necessarily be great for long term growth, but with the way the economy is right now I think it'll definitely make some people some nice profits. I probably got in on it at the wrong time, but I don't think I'll end up losing money on it.

    While Apple might have a decent footing in this industry, Microsoft dominates the arena. They've got so many divisions and branches that you can find their products just about anywhere. Tons of cash, tons of customers, and a great track record are reasons to own this stock.
