Got out of Yahoo! February 06, 2008
Boy, was I glad to see Microsoft's offer for Yahoo! - I was watching its value slip away day after day, with no end in sight. Still, I kept holding out hope that a company with that sort of brand recognition could only slide so far before someone snapped it up, and I was right. Close enough, anyway.
So when MS offered $31-ish for Yahoo, I put a sell order at $28.50 and counted my blessings. Believe it or not, I ended up making a couple bucks on Yahoo, but not enough to get excited about.

Good enough for Warren Buffett October 01, 2007
I took notice when Warren Buffet started snapping up RR stock, particularly BNSF (BNI). Among other things, this buy diversifies me a little bit, and I trust things won't get too far out of hand at BNSF without Warren doing a little "encouraging".

Love VMWare September 26, 2007
I bought EMC before the VMWare IPO - they're still holding a bunch of VMWare stock. I may consider VMWare at some point, but I want to see if the IPO afterflow wears off a little.

vs. Airbus September 26, 2007
I picked BA when the news of Airbus' production delays was just starting to pour in. I think it would have been strong anyway, but defecting Airbus customers announced some really high-profile deals with BA, giving it a nice pop. I'll hold it for a while based not only on its civilian component, but a strong defense business, too.
