  • Day trade FTW until the banks die. September 16, 2008

    I'm not sure any of companies I currently like fundamentally (FSLR, AMZN et al) are going anywhere fast under these conditions.  So I've actually changed my strategy these past weeks to more of a day trader.  I'm not holding much (if anything) overnight since it seems like we wake up every morning right now and disaster has struck.  I don't know where the bottom is and I'm not comfortable gambling on that.

  • Not sure about Kindle. August 13, 2008

    I picked up AMZN because it's a well run company and I felt amazon web services are going to take over the internet.  When it jumped 10% after earnings I was pleased but when we had another 10 percent jump this week I was a little concerned.  I don't buy that Kindle is a good reason for this like everyone claims.

    I've been meaning to pick up Amazon for a while now.  More than ever I use these guys for shopping and more recently for software development and mp3 downloads.  I've noticed both myself and people I know spending more time interacting with their system.  From a software development standpoint the web services they are providing are really a life saver.  The stuff is clean and smart.  Gives you what you need without a lot of "enterprise" class bullshit.  It allows me to develop things that would......
